Are cold pressed oils more healthy?

Yes, cold pressed oils are superior health products as the natural nutritional properties are not affected or reduced. Cold pressing refers to oils obtained through pressing fruit or seeds with a modern steel press, such as those used for our Apricot Kernel Oil. Pressing does produce some heat through friction but the temperature does not rise above 45°C and consequently the oil is considered "cold pressed". This is in stark contrast to large scale solvent extraction and refining operations which strip the oil of natural antioxidants, vitamins and flavour. The solvent extraction method is used to produce most common cooking oils found in supermarkets. Cold pressed oils retain all of their flavour and nutritional value making them great for all skin care, cooking and health requirements. They contain zero grams of trans fatty acids and are naturally cholesterol-free. Only cold pressed oils will deliver goodness to the skin making our oil a superior massage oil and body oil.

How much Apricot Kernel Oil should I take?

That depends on what you wish to achieve...15ml (one tablespoon) is considered a serving size. This can be taken several times a day or as advised by your Health and/or Nutritional Advisor - every 2 hrs may be necessary under some circumstances as some essential vitamins are short-lived in the body. As a massage oil or body oil, liberal and frequent use will improve skin health. Even when ingested, Apricot Kernel Oil will improve skin condition due to its vitamin content.

Why is Apricot Kernel Oil better as a body oil and massage oil than other oils?

Apricot Kernel Oil is popular as a body oil and massage oil and is known for its ability to penetrate the skin without leaving an oily feel. As a body oil, the moisturizing, revitalizing properties are popular in many cosmetics for dry or aged skin. Apricot kernel oil makes the perfect massage oil and it used as a carrier oil with essential oils for aromatherapy. Apricot Kernel Oil as a massage oil is superior to other types of massage oils as it provide the necessary glide for massage. The fine consistency allows it to be absorbed into the skin leaving a velvety finish. Our oil is extracted from Australian apricot kernels and has a high Vitamin E content (aiding fast absorption). It is a trygliceride composed of 75% oleic acid and 20% linoleic acid, and unsaturated fatty acids esterfied with glycerin. This composition is found to be highly compatible with the skin. Apricot Kernel Oil moisturizes and softens skin while helping retain clarity and suppleness. These properties make the oil highly sought after as a massage oil and body oil.

I have heard that cancer is a "deficiency disease" - what's this all about?

There is a belief that cancer is a deficiency disease aggravated by the lack of an essential food in modern man's diet.  "World Without Cancer" was written by G. Edward Griffin born 1931 USA and well-known advocate for alternative cancer therapies. Griffin contends that "with billions of dollars spent each year on research, with other billions taken in on the sale of cancer-related drugs, and with fund-raising at an all-time high, there are now more people making a living from cancer than dying from it. If the solution should be found in a single vitamin, this gigantic industry could be wiped out overnight. The result is that the politics of cancer is more complicated than the science."

For a list of foods useful to be added to one's diet visit http://www.vitaminb17.org/ and click on "Foods containing B17 (Nitrilosides)"
High vitamin content occurs naturally in many fruits (eg wild blackberry and wild crab apple), seeds (eg apple and apricot), beans (eg fava and mung), raw nuts (eg bitter almond and macadamia), sprouts (eg bamboo), leaves (eg alfalfa and eucalyptus) and tubers.

What vitamins are in Apricot Kernel Oil?

Omega 6 (26%) and Omega 9 (65%) both of which are essential fatty acids. The body cannot manufacture these components so unless they are added to our diet, we are lacking. See also

Where can I find more information about cancer?

A search on the internet will give an incredible range of information so any attempt here cannot do you justice. Please read widely because we all owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to live a long and healthy life. An interesting article you may like to look at is a chapter from "One Answer to Cancer" by Dr William Donald Kelley, DDS, MS. Click here for the pdf file of this chapter. Refer to our links page.
